RISE WITH US ・ 與我們一同飛行
China Airlines Australia is saying thank you this year-end with a hot air balloon flight over Melbourne, awarded every week from 1 October to 25 November. Dynasty Flyer members holding a China Airlines ticket departing Australia in 2026 — whether already flown or yet to travel — can register, answer one question and be selected to win a balloon certificate — one winner, two seats.
Winners take off with Global Ballooning Australia on the date of their round and spend around an hour above Melbourne. Each winner can bring one friend or family member along — China Airlines is glad to share the journey with you.
Anyone holding a China Airlines ticket departing Australia in 2026 qualifies, whether already flown or yet to travel. Dynasty Flyer membership is required at the time of entry; joining is free and takes about a minute.
All nine flights take place on Tuesday mornings. Travellers may select up to four dates; each is judged separately, so more dates means more chances.
Share your story in 50 to 200 words, in English or Chinese. Judging is based on the answer alone.
Entries close each Wednesday and winners are announced on Thursday. The flight takes place on the second Tuesday after the announcement (except Round 1: announced 8 October, flies 13 October). Winners are notified by email; if we cannot reach you by email, we will call to confirm. Each e-ticket may be entered once; if you hold more than one ticket, you may enter each separately. An entry that is not selected automatically carries into the later dates you chose. Each ticket can be selected once only during the competition.
The first rounds to be judged are the 13 and 20 October flights. One entry can cover up to four flight dates; an entry that doesn’t win carries into the later dates you chose, until the competition ends, and each ticket number can win only once. See the table below for each round’s entry deadline and announcement date. Don’t miss your chance to enter!

Good luck —
we hope to see you above Melbourne!
Your details are sent over an encrypted connection to China Airlines’ own campaign system and are used only for running this competition and notifying winners. If you win, your details and your companion’s name go to the balloon operator, and your details are provided to China Airlines’ Australia branch. All entry information is deleted 90 days after the competition ends. See clause 11 of the Terms and Conditions.
Up to four, in order of preference. Each date is judged separately. If you don’t win, your entry automatically carries into the later dates you chose, until the competition ends. Each ticket number can win only once.
Yes. Each balloon prize admits two: the winner and one companion nominated at the time of claiming. Both seats must be used together on the same flight and cannot be split or used on separate dates. Both passengers must meet the operator’s passenger requirements.
Balloon flights are booked under passengers’ real names, so we need the names of both the winner and the nominated companion to provide to the balloon operator.
Yes, at the time of entry. Membership at the time of ticket purchase is not required; simply join Dynasty Flyer before registering. It is free and takes about a minute. There is no residency requirement.
Yes. Eligibility rests on holding a China Airlines international ticket departing Australia — from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne, or connecting through one of them from another Australian city. Please note the balloon departs Melbourne at sunrise on a fixed Tuesday and travel is at the winner’s own arrangement; we ask travellers to consider this before selecting dates.
Winners are published on the announcement date for each round and contacted by email; if we cannot reach a winner by email, we call to confirm. As the flight follows within days, winners must confirm acceptance and nominate their companion within 72 hours. The certificate is sent to the email address given at entry.
Yes. At verification the ticket must be flown or valid for travel. A refund during the competition or after winning that removes eligibility allows China Airlines to cancel the entry or prize; where the certificate has already been issued or used, the value of the balloon certificate, AUD 1,200, becomes payable. Refunds arising from a China Airlines schedule change or cancellation, or on documented medical or other grounds, are exempt.
The operator applies restrictions on minimum age, weight, pregnancy, mobility and footwear, which apply equally to the winner and companion. Passengers must be able to hold the landing position, knees bent and back against the basket. Please check before nominating a companion; see Conditions of use for the full rules.
Yes. Passengers holding a valid China Airlines booking reference save 15%, up to AUD 90 per person, on selected Global Ballooning flights over Melbourne City and the Yarra Valley with the code ChinaAirlines15. Book with Global Ballooning. The offer is provided by Global Ballooning, cannot be combined with other offers and is separate from this competition.
For the conditions of use of the balloon certificate, please refer to Global Ballooning Australia’s FAQs; some provisions may not apply.
